Join Greens members and supporters for our Bush Regen Day and Family Picnic in Brunswick Heads on Saturday 20th May from 9am – 1pm.
We will join the Byron Shire Chemical Free Landcare group to help them continue to regenerate a beautiful coastal ecosystem from Bitou Bush infestation. We will have a tour of the site at 9am with local ecologist, Ellen White who will show us the local ecology, followed by some light weeding along the fire trail.
After the working bee, join us for a bring-a-plate picnic on the grass near the Surf Club.
This Byron Shire Chemical Free Landcare have been removing Bitou Bush and other invasive weeds on this piece of Crown Land for the past 7 years and are nearing the end of their project.
The area is flat, easy to walk along and showcases some of our amazing local coastal ecosystems.
All tools will be provided, but please bring a hat, closed shoes, long sleeved shirt, gloves, water and a plate to share for our picnic afterwards!
Park near the Brunswick Heads Surf Club on South Beach Road.
