New Greens MP, Dawn Walker met with local forest campaigners in Bellingen to call for an end to logging in native forests and to lend support to their campaign to protect the Kalang headwaters.“Our native forests are vital to the survival of many endangered species of plants and animals and our forests play a vital role in reducing the effects of climate change, such as the record heatwaves that hit the Mid North Coast this summer” said Dawn Walker.

NSW Greens MLC, Dawn Walker has called on the National Party to intervene to ensure the survival of the Murwillumbah Community Legal Service following a looming cut of $180,000 to the Northern Rivers Community Legal Centre’s annual budget.  

New Greens MP Calls For Dedicated Aboriginal Seats In NSW Parliament

In her first speech to the NSW Parliament, newly elected Greens MLC Dawn Walker called for a discussion about having dedicated seats in the NSW Upper House for Aboriginal people to ensure direct representation in the NSW Parliament.


Following revelations that local patients are being forced to go across the border to Queensland to access health services because TweedHospital is at breaking point, Greens NSW Health spokesperson, Dawn Walker has called on both the Liberal-Nationals and Labor to stop using TweedHospital as a ‘political football’.
